This includes infromation about commonly used standards and methods. We are happy to answer any questions that may have relating to Quality Management and we aim to provide a prompt, helpful and friendly response to all enquiries. It is company policy to provide information in plain English so that it is of use to both Quality profeesionals and those who are new to the subject.

Using Standards
Internationally recognised standards and benchmarks are a way of guiding an organisation towards best practice and to help the development of a culture by the adoption of a structured and disciplined approach to standardisation. This does help with achieving consistency and the predictability of outcomes or performance. There are many management system standards covering a variety of specialist areas such as Environmental management or Information Security. The vast majority of these standards are based on a set of core principles of management systems that are described in the international standard for Quality Management System Requirements ISO 9001. The International Organization for Standardization has been working together with national bodies such as the British Standards Institute for some years to align all management systems standards with the core standard ISO 9001. For details of some of the standards that are available see the Standards section of this website. We have prepared a number of short papers explaining the principles of some of the more common management systems standards. These can be downloaded from our Downloads page.

Project & Programme Assurance
The basic principle of all Project and Programme Assurance is that the decision makers need accurate, balanced and independently validated information on which to base their decisions throughout a Programme of work. Projects and Programmes of all kinds from IT infrastructure, Construction and Rail to Technology development and manufacturing increase their chances of success by employing modern methods of Project and Programme Assurance. These are always based on the basic principles of Quality Management and are usually designed around the widely recognised, structured methodologies for Project and Programme Management such as PRINCE2.
